Note
|
Thomas W Cunninghamwas the third child born to Thomas Patrick Cunninghamand Margaret Burke. Thomas grew up in the Wallace / Springbank district near Ballarat and attended the Catholic School at Ormond (Springbank). As a young man Thomas travelled to Western Australia in the company of his brother Ned in search of fame and fortune. He was already an accomplished operator of agricultural machinery to which he added the skill of operating mining equipment of the day. Around the turn of the century, Thomas travelled back to Melbourne with a work mate, David McGuiness. David invited him to the McGuiness home in Healesville where Thomas met Mary Jane Mcguiness his wife to be. Thomas and Mary Jane McGuiness were married in Healesville on 22 April 1903. |
