Note

Bad Death of Young Mother.

Mrs. Elizabeth J. Colton wife of F. E. Colton died Thursday morning at 5 o'clock from rupture of tubal pregnancy.

Mrs. Colton was taken sick quite suddenly last Friday and everything was done for her that could be and it was thought the trouble was temporary, but Tuesday morning she became worse and the doctor was called Wednesday morning. She was in total callapse and it was necessary to administer stimulants all day to sustain her. It was feared she would not survive an operation but Wednesday evening the abdomen was opened to allow the pus to escape.

Mrs. Colton came out of the anesthetic and was perfectly conscious but about midnight a change for the worse came and she realized she must go. She bade her husband and little children, parents and relatives goodbye and at 5 o'clock her spirit took its flight.

Mrs. Colton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hacking, she was born at Cedar Fort April 23, 1873, and when an infant was brought to the Ashley Valley. She lived with her parents at their home until September 27, 1899 when she was married in Salt Lake City to Frank E. Colton. Five children have blessed their union, four girls and one little boy, who all survive their mother.

Mrs. Colton got her schooling at the district school, the Uintah Stake Academy and the B. Y. U. She specialized in music and was especially well qualified in that line. She was a most affectionate wife and mother and was devoted heart and soul to her family.

Mrs. Colton is the third grown child Mr. and Mrs. Hacking have lost in the last four years.

The sympathy of the people goes out to the husband Mr. Ed Colton, his children and the family in this time of severe trial. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday in the Maeser Ward House.
