Bernice Colton Rawlings 1916 ~ 2006 Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Bernice Colton Rawlings, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at the Orchard Park Care Center in Orem, Utah. Bernice was born February 5, 1916 to Charles Henry and Nellie Hacking Colton in Vernal, Utah. She was the sixth of nine children. She loved her family dearly. She was married to Wesley Phillip Rawlings on June 18, 1934 in Heber City, Utah. Their marriage was later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1947. Together they raised their five children on a farm in Orem, UT.

Bernice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She served in many callings including: Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society, Librarian and as a very loving visiting teacher. She had great joy in doing genealogy for her and Wesley's families. She had a great love for the outdoors and loved to go camping and fishing. She loved to sew clothing for her children and made many beautiful quilts and afghans for them.

Survived by sons Larry, Moroni; Lloyd Farrell (Linda), New Plymouth, Idaho; Reed (Janice), Moroni; daughter Marilyn Gurney (Wayne), Vernal; 26 grandchildren, 52 great- grandchildren, and 21 great-great- grandchildren; sister Edna Sargent (John), Tennessee; sisters-in-law Lois Colton and Lila Colton. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley; son Monte, daughter-in-law LaDawn, granddaughter Brooke Rawlings, and grandson Robert Gurney; brothers and sisters, Ray, Miriam, Anthon (Tony), Lawrence (Larry), Lorna, Reed and Ardis.

A special thanks to A+ Hospice, Bel Aire Assisted Living, Orchard Park Care Center, and Central Valley Medical Center for their loving care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 1160 W. 400 S. in Orem. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St. in Orem and also Sat. from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward chapel.
