Robert Isaac (Ven), Archdeacon of East Riding; ordained 1826, Fell. of Oriel Coll. Oxford 1826, Sub-Dean and Tutor 1828, Rector of East Farleigh, Kent, 1832, and of Burton Agnes, Yorks, 1840, Archdeacon of East Riding 1841, entered Roman Catholic Church 1854; friend of Cardinal Newman and Cardinal Manning; born 19th December 1802, educated Oriel College, Oxford (B.A. 1824, M.A. 1827) He fell ill at Albano just outside of Rome and buried by a special request of the Pope in the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva in front of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. This is the titular Church of the present Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster. |
