Note	David served in the Confederate Army during the Civil war attaining the rank of Corporal. After the war he became a circuit riding Methodist Preacher, covering large parts of West Virginia and eastern Kentucky. He met and married his wife Rena Boggs in Kentucky where they made their first home.
