Note	Notes Weis' "Ancestral Roots . . ." (144A:18). The "Dictionary of Royal Lineage" states that he was the illigitimatechild of RAINULFE II. He became Count of Poitiers in 902. He became Countof Limousin, Count of Auvergne, and Duke of Aquitaine in 928. Thissource also states that Ebles married Adele (RIN 1425), dua. of KingEDWARD I of England and that WILLIAM III was their son. Weis' "AncestralRoots. . ." (144A:18), however, does not mention a marriage to Adele andhas as WILLIAM's mother Ebles' 2nd wife, EMLIANE. I regard Weis as themore reliable source. Ebles "Manzer", Count of Poitou and Duke of Aquitaine, was the son ofRainulf II and an unnamed concubine [ES ii,76]. (Moriarty suggests theconcubine was possibly an "Ermengarde".)
