According to the "Dictionary of National Biography", in the article onHugh of Avaranches, Earl of Chester, Thurstan (Toustein) was unfaithfulto DUKE WILLIAM [of Normandy (RIN 798)] in 1040 and helped HENRY, KING OFFRANCE (RIN 1198) in his invasion of Normandy. His son RICHARD remainedloyal and made his father's peace with THE DUKE.
