ALFRED WILHELM Scholz was born at Walla Walla on 28th May, 1883.

His worKing life began in earnest at Wiesner's store, near the hotel, Walla. He also worked for the firm of Bartsch and Rohrich at Henty. He Drew bLock of land in the Walla subdivision where he farmed for about 40 years. On his retirement to Walla Walla he and his son Laurence took over the Young Husband stock and station agency. The couple retired to the Rest Home for Senior Citizens at Corowa, where he died on 12th October, 1967. He was buried in the Walla cemetery.

On 23rd February, 1909 he had Married Emma Hulda Muller, a dress maker and cake decorator. She is living at the Tanderra Nursing Home, Albury, after being cared for by her daughters for a number of years.

He was a member of the Committee of Management of the Walla Church for many years.

The Marriage was blessed with seven children, 5 sons and 2 daughters. One son died of whooping cough in infancy.
