Carlisle Patriot, Nov. 27, 1841, At Leadenhall Street on Sunday last, Thomas Ostell, bookseller, son of the late Mr Ostell of Moorhouse, Cumbria, England near this city, highly respected.

Note

Occupation: Between 1831 - 1838, Bookseller and Stationer, Calcutta.Probably returned to England after the death of his wife and set up abookshop in Leadenhall Street, London. In 1841 he printed a 'new andcorrected' edition of "The Elements of Plane and Spherical Trigonmery" byRichard Abbatt, a Quaker schoolmaster of Preston, Lancashire.
