Paid taxes 1783-1792 (estate, 1798-99) in Hanover County, VA May have signed legislative petitions: Will: 1793, Philip Tinsley, w. Judith, sons John Burwell Tinsley (d. 1849) and Father's will -- see John Tinsley. John's will also names more of Philip's children. 1785, 6 Oct. Crump's Creek is near the Pamunkey River and Topotomoy Creek, Hanovertown. During the Wilderness battles of the Civil War, a Tinsley house was mentioned near Bethesda Church, where the fighting was quite heavy. |
