Note
|
The home of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Mumford, of Mortlack Saskatchewan, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Tuesday September 18th when Mildred Hazel, second daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Amos Fennell, Newbury Ontario, became the bride of Harold Wilfred Beatty, of Mortaclach, the ceremony beingperformed by Rev. Mr. Coultier. Promptly at 1 o'clock the bridal couple entered the drawing-room to the strains of the Lohengrin "Bridal Chorus" played by Miss Edith Crane. The bride who was given away by her brother, looked charming in a dress of white Georgette with trimmings of frills picoted in silver and carried a bouquet of rosebuds and fern, the bridal veil being of white tulle and bandeau of orange blossoms. The bridesmaid Miss Meg McClumb, of Semans was beautiful in a dress of french grey Georgette with mauve trimmings and large hat of grey and mauve and carried a bouquet of asters and sweet peas. The groom was supported by his brother, Frank. During the signing of the register Mrs. Bishop of Semans sang very sweetly "O Perfect Love". After extending congratulations the guests who numbered about 30 sat down to a very dainty luncheon. The table which was presided over by Miss Crane, Miss McKenzie and Miss Cliff, was centered with a large wedding cake, the table decorations being a mauve and pink sweet peas and asters. The bride and groom recieved many beautiful gifts among which were several substantial cheques. The grooms gift to the bride was a lovely silver mesh bag, to the bridesmaid a beaded bag, to the soloist brass candlesticks, to the pianist a silver vanity case and to the best man a leather travelling case. The happy couple left by motor on a short honeymoon trip to Saskatoon and Prince Albert, the bride travelling in a navy blue costume with fox fur and navy blue hat. Upon their return they will reside in Mortlack. |
