Birth: May 30, 1945 American Fork Utah County Utah, USA Death: Jun. 23, 2006 Pocatello Bannock County Idaho, USA POCATELLO - Rex Milton Lee, 61, passed away Friday, June 23, 2006 as he was training on his bicycle in preparation for a Multiple Sclerosis bike tour. Rex was born the youngest of 11 children to James and Jennie Lee in American Fork, Utah in 1945. He grew up in Emmett, Idaho and moved to Kearns, Utah with his family as a teenager. He graduated from Granger High School. Rex met Ina Marie Dilworth when he was 17 and she was 16. He served a 2 ½ year mission in Korea. Rex and Ina married one month after his return from Korea on January 16, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rex and Ina have lived all over California, Idaho and Utah. Throughout all of their moves they kept coming back to Pocatello. Rex was a mechanic in his early adulthood, and continued helping his family and others with those skills. He sold Fuller Brush and insurance for a few years. Rex and Ina have owned a couple of businesses in Utah. They moved back to Pocatello and have been Certified Disabled Care Providers for over 20 years. Rex was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and spent hours involved with (F.R.E.P.) Family Records Extraction Program. Rex loved playing with his grandchildren, riding bicycles, working and playing on the computer, camping, watching and recording movies from satellite. He could fix anything and do anything; nothing stopped him. He spent many hours riding from business to business getting donations for the MS Foundation. For four years he has ridden with his team members in the MS 150 mile bike tour. Every morning Rex rode 30-70 miles as he trained. He loved riding. Rex also enjoyed helping others. He would always stop to help someone stranded on the side of the road or invite someone in need over for Thanksgiving Dinner. Rex unconditionally loved all people. Rex is survived by his wife, Ina M. Lee, Pocatello; children, Rex Michael (Patti) Lee, Torey, UT; Shauna (Steve) Hatch, West Palm Beach, FL; Tamera (Christopher) Mollette, Pocatello; Jenifer (Jason) Womack, Lake City, FL; John (Elisha) Lee, Evanston, WY; JaNae (Aaron) Melius, Citrus Heights, CA; Heather (Richard) McClellan, Chesterland, OH; 24 grandchildren, and nine siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Jennie Lee, and his brother, Blaine Lee. Funeral services to honor the life of Rex will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 30, 2006 at Alameda LDS Stake Center, 930 East Alameda Road, with Bishop Byron Miles conducting. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, Thursday evening at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 So. 4th Avenue, and from 9:30-10:30 AM, Friday prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: M.S. Society, c/o Tammy Mollette, 980 Northgate - Pocatello, ID 83201, prior to July 10th to allow these funds to be placed with the donations he had already accumulated for the bike tour. |
