Lawrence Stanford Briggs L. Stanford Briggs, 76, died in his home Thursday, July 14, 1983. He was born Jan. 10, 1907 in Lehi to Lawrence H. and Lexia M. Trane Briggs. He married Fay Anderson on April 29, 1919 [1929 -- In 1919, L. Stanford would have only been 12 years old. Other records give the year 1929] in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the American Fork 17th LDS Ward. He graduated with his degree in pharmacy in 1927. He began working in his father's drug store at age seven. He closed Brigg's Pharmacy on Dec. 8, 1975 after 65 years of service in the the community. In his youth, he played tennis and baseball and was a supporter of community sports throughout his life. Survivors include his wife of American Fork; one son, Dr. Leland S. Briggs, Provo; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Maxine) Whiting of Sun City, Arizona. Funeral services were held Monday in the AMerican Fork 17th Ward. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. |
