Note	There is no record of birth, baptism or census for Alice Corkhill/ Corkill between 1842 and 1850 in Isle of Man or Liverpool. As we know from her marriage certificate that her father was Daniel Corkhill, that gives us 2 possibilities. She could be the daughter of Daniel of Daniel Corkhill and Jane Fell who moved to Liverpool in about 1840. In which case she would have been born in Liverpool and appeared on the 1851 census along with her widowed mother (This Daniel died in 1849 in Liverpool). The fact that there is no record of her in 1851 with this family and that she would have been born in Liverpool suggests this is the wrong option. There is only one other Daniel Corkhill who was having children in the Isle of Man and during the period of 1844-1850, this Daniel and his 2nd wife Ann Looney do not appear to have any children so it maybe that Alice, for some reason was missed off the census. There is also no baptismal record. All things being considered, this family appears to be the better option for her family roots. This was proved by her father Daniel being a Blacksmith on Alice's marriage certificate and Alice being with her aunt Isabella Corlett nee Morrison in 1851.
