FATAL RESULT OF BURNING ACCIDENT
From serious injuries sustained to the head and face by falling into the fire in his home, while breaKing firewood on the hearth, Alexander Aikenhead, aged 86, died in the Infirmary on Saturday. The old man stayed on his own at 6, Nursery Road
and, having only one leg, he fell forWard into the fire. He managed to crawl to the doorway, where his daughter, who lives next door, found him. He had suffered greatly from shock. Deceased was well known in the district, having been one of the
best weavers in his Younger days in the village of LutherMuir. For many years he was a fish merchant but retired some years ago. His forebears had been for generations connected with LutherMuir. Deceased who was predeceased by his wife, is
survived by a family.

Alexander could have visited Australia. An Alexander Aikenhead, age 30, arrived at Geelong Victoria, Australia on the 188 ton brigantine "Caroline" on 5th January 1854. He was an assisted immigrant. No further records have been found and it is
