Occupation
1189-1194
Sheriff of Lancaster; "Baron of Osebrook [Ockbrook, Derbyshire], born 1121, of the Norman family of Shipbrook"; favoured by Prince, later King, John.

Property
abt 1190 • Haddon, Derbyshire
Inherited through marriage to co-heiress of Avenel; licensed to strengthen (not fortify with crenellation) Haddon by John count of Mortain (later King John) between 1188-1194.

Property
11 Jul 1193 • Tideswell, Derbyshire
Granted land in Tideswell from John, Count of Mortain (later King John from 1199)

Property
1197 • Harlaston, Staffordshire
Paid £20 for land in Staffordshire, probably for Harlaston which he had previously forfeited and is known to have held some time before 1195.

Occupation
1200-1205
Sheriff of Lancaster; second stint; fined 40 marks and a palfrey and retired before he was pushed out; given as the brother of William de Vernon who then took over 1204-1205.

Death
abt 1214 • Haddon, Derbyshire
Thought to be after 1196 and before 1219; one source relating to Adstock manor claims he was dead by 1195, but this is in fact when he is thought to have been imprisoned for having supported John against Richard.
