his father Daniel was a coal merchant. Jason taught Sunday School and went into the army in the 1st world war in the
Cheshire medical core. He was wounded and badly burnt in the Dardanels and was sent to hospital in Cairo, Egypt where
he met the Fassone family and their daughter Lina Maria. They fell in love and were married by the District of the British
Consulate at the Fassone residence in Abbassia, Cairo on the 19th October 1918. Lina's father was a jewelry contractor.
They were both 23 years old on the day of their marriage. Jason brought his wife Lina home to England after he was
demobed from the army. First they lived in Normanton, Yorkshire with Catholic friends, the Conlons. He then went to work on the
Gold Coast of Africa where he worked for the railway supervising the building of the railway there. He developed black water
fever and was invalided home. Not able to work there any more he did varies sales jobs and the stood market in Hyde Manchester, Bakewell, Leek and Macclesfield Cheshire. He eventually became a silk merchant which was registered at 54 Prestbury Road, Macclesfield under the name of Jason Charlesworth Ltd. He had 5 daughters Ida, May, Irene, Barbara, Marlene and 1 son, Edward Alexander.
